My Patients Don't Listen To Podcasts

If you've never listened to a podcast, you're now in the minority. More than half of Americans report having listened to a podcast in the last 12 months.

So don't be too quick to assume that your patients don't listen to them.

Also, the whole point of embracing podcasting is to grow your brand, your reach and your authority. Your patients already know, like and trust you. And so a podcast is a way for you to reach those who are not yet your patients.

I Don't Understand How A Podcast Is Going To Benefit My Brand

You're not alone. This is one of the most common questions we get regarding podcasts for healthcare professionals.

The simple answer is that, like Seth Godin says, "a podcast is an asset, that people can engage with for years to come". Much like a book.

But unlike a book, a podcast can be distributed to a wider audience, who don't have to pay for it (lower barrier of entry) and who can listen to it while doing other things - like driving, cooking, working out.

How Much Time Do I Need To Create A Podcast?

During the initial stage, while we are brainstorming and planning your podcast, you will be asked to complete an intake form and then have a 1:1 call with us to get more clarity on your background, your podcast's goals, your patients, etc…

The call takes about one hour. And the intake form will take you about 20-45 minutes to complete.

After that, all you need to invest is the time required to record your episodes. We recommend 20-40 minutes per episode but you may go as long as 1 to 1.5 hours. It's up to you.

Our team takes care of everything else involved. From polishing and editing your audio, to creating graphics, promotional material, videos, transcripts, show notes, uploading, scheduling, etc.

I'm Pretty Sure I Can Do This On My Own…

Podcasting is not hard. It's just time consuming. Especially the launch of a podcast.

There's several steps involved that take time to learn and navigate. And frankly, you probably have better things to do with your time than to learn the quirks of Apple Podcasts's platform…

I Don't Understand, How Does A Podcast Make Money?

It does not. At least not directly. And certainly not at first.

I mean… Unless you're already a celebrity doctor who has a 6 month waiting list and an offer for your own reality show… And in that case, you probably already have a podcast!

But for the rest of us, podcasting is a tool for you and your practice. Think of it as a business card. An interactive business card.

One where people can learn about you, get to know, like and trust you, and recommend you to more people.

Then, as your listenership grows, so will your authority and you'll be able to book more consults, raise your prices, get more speaking engagements, and maybe even directly monetize your podcast through sponsorships and affiliate marketing.

How Long Does It Take For A Podcast To Make Money?

If your goal is to monetize your podcast either by getting sponsors and/or by selling your products on it, you'll have to work really hard in creating good content, and marketing it correctly.

We can help you with both of those things but you should know that it will take you 18 - 24+ months before you start seeing results in this area.

If, on the other hand, your goal is to grow your brand and authority by podcasting, then you will be able to see the results of that much sooner.

You own everything we produce for you. Entirely and without restrictions.

That includes the audio but also the graphic assets, names, taglines, intros, outros, accounts, etc… It's all yours.

In fact, when registering your podcast and creating new accounts, everything is created under your name (or your company's) and you will have login credentials to everything from the start.
